Keitha’s Kittie Rescue was created by Keitha on August 10, 2017.

On December 27, 2017 it became a non-profit, 501(c)(3).

The rescue cares for cats and kittens that are abandoned by their owners, found as strays and/or need medical care.

Keitha's Story

Keitha rescued her first cat when she was 16 years old, then many years later, she rescued Onyx and Ziggy, who were both dumped at her house. Both kitties were pregnant, Onyx was easy to catch but it took her a year to catch Ziggy. After the year she spent rescuing them, she decided to create Keitha’s Kittie Rescue. The rescue is based out of Lebanon, Oregon and serves Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon and Sweet Home as well as other communities in Benton and Linn counties. All the kitties in the care of the rescue live in foster homes, which allows the fosters t really get to know the cats and help place them in forever homes that will be a great fit for them.

Other shelters in the area often require owners to pay a fee to abandon their animal, are overcrowded, have the owner make an assessment appointment to determine if they want to accept them or there is no local shelter in the community. Sometimes, if the animal is a stray it takes them time to adjust before being adopted or they may need medical care, often times a shelter is not the best environment for these cases.

Keitha’s Kittie Rescue is all volunteer, foster based rescue. Volunteers care for the cats and kittens in their homes. Adoption events are also held at Petsmart in Corvallis, Oregon. All money goes for supplies such as litter, food and medical care.

Keitha’s dream is for the rescue to create a low cost spay and neuter clinic.
